Capostrano Verdicchio di Matelica$25 Level

Capostrano Verdicchio di Matelica 2014

Arguably one of the best white wine grapes grown in Italy, Verdicchio is fresh and fragrant while showing lovely balance and structure. Capostrano is a great substitute for people who prefer and enjoy Pinot Grigio. This wine has been a staple in our shop for years, now with an even better price.

Marchesi Del Salento NegroamaroMarchesi del Salento Negroamaro 2015

This southern Italian gem has a deep violet color and an approachably intense blend of fruit and spice. Negroamaro is the most widely planted grape in Puglia, Italy and best represents the region’s terroir. Try Negroamaro with beef, lamb or any dark meat game.

Michele Chiarlo Barbera D’Asti Le Orme 2013

Michele Chiarlo sources grapes strictly from selected Barbera vineyards with excellent exposure to produce a wonderfully balanced wine. The vineyards are in the southern area of Asti province, especially the hills around Nizza Monferrato.  Medium bodied with bright fruit, try this wine with chicken or mushrooms or pair it with one of our new cheeses, Madaio Mastorazio, an Italian sheep’s milk cheese.

Castello Di Meleto Chianti Classico

$35 Level

Castello di Meleto Chianti Classico 2012

With a deep ruby color, Castello di Meleto has a complex nose of cherries, floral and vanilla notes. Soft and round, excellent balance with a pleasant finish. A very quaffable Chianti and a perfect accompaniment for this month’s featured recipe, Slow-cooked Game Stew. We are also pouring this wine by the glass in Uncorked.
