December Wine Club

$35 Level Main Selection

epicure_rouge_2010-cChâteau Valcombe Epicure Rouge 2010, Ventoux, Rhône, France

Our main bottle at the $35 level is this lush Rhône from Ventoux, on the southeastern side of the valley. Full-bodied, with lots of ripe blackberry and cherry as well as subtle hints of allspice and nutmeg in the nose, this wine is intense and complex but still has a pleasant freshness to balance out the lingering tannins in the finish. This is a fabulous wine for your holiday table and will pair excellently with seasonal favorites like roasts and goose. Try it with our Raclette, Ascutney Mountain Tomme or Sequatchie Cove Cumberland cheeses!

$25 Level Main Selection

Tessellae CarignanTessellae Carignan 2012, Côtes Catalanes, France

Our choice for the $25 level is 100% Carignan and is full-bodied and voluptuously fruity. Another great holiday wine, it has decadent notes of ripe berry and plum co-mingled with licorice and pepper notes in the nose and spice on the palate. This wine finishes soft and clean without losing any of its elegance. This is a great option for turkey or duck and will be a crowd-pleaser with most dishes. Try it paired with our Brie Fermier, Taleggio or Manchego cheeses!

Both levels choose between the following:

scaia_corvinaScaia Corvina 2012, Veneto, Italy

Our red choice at both levels is this unique Italian Corvina, a varietal usually used for blending. It shines on its own in this medium-bodied, complex red which has a vibrant nose of violet, rose and forest fruits that follows through with black currant, raspberry and plum on the palate. It has a subtle but lingering finish with gentle tannins and soft hints of anise. This is a good choice for lighter fare and will pair with charcuterie, fowl and pork. Try it with our Fontina, Mimolette or Cabot clothbound Cheddar cheeses!

Scaia BiancaScaia Garganega Chardonnay 2013, Veneto, Italy

Our white choice at both levels is this fabulous white blend, primarily the native Italian varietal Garganega with some Chardonnay for structure. Unoaked, fresh and clean, this delightful white
has hints of orange blossom and acacia flowers in the nose as well as soft citrus notes, pear and subtle pineapple. The finish is dry, bright and minerally, and the wine has a startling elegance
and structure for the price! This is an ideal aperitif and will pair beautifully with first courses, salads, fish or soup. Try it with our Bucherondin, La Tur or Humboldt Fog cheeses!
