New World Wines

Australia & New Zealand

Australian and South African Wines

Wine critic Matt Kramer has argued that Australia, with it’s massive wine exports and markedly different attitude towards winemaking represents “the most powerful influence in wine today.” While Australia and New Zealand have unquestionably established themselves as producers of uniform, inexpensive table wines, we select and offer wines that rise far above the supermarket crowd. We have a selection of unique and exciting wines from the best regions in both countries, and find that the terroir and climate of these areas offers a new twist on old standby varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chenin Blanc, and Sauvignon Blanc. These classics reveal startling new characteristics from both varied climate and terroir, and fearless vintners.

South America

South American wines

Chile and Argentina are rightly famed for their Malbec, which matches and in some cases exceeds the quality of its French ancestors, but we also offer a wide selection of Pinot Noir, Carmenere, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay from South America. The combination of excellent terroir, artisanal winemaking and and old-world commitment to quality create wines of incredible quality. Some of our South American selections are the result of partnerships between old and new world vintners, that have resulted in outstanding wines with all the complexity of the best that Europe has to offer, and the refreshing qualities that mark new-world wines.

California

California wines

California’s wine producing regions offer some of the world’s best wines, from Zinfandel to Syrah, Cabernet Franc to Cabernet Blanc, and we have the tough but rewarding job of paring this amazing array of wonderful choices down to the very best. WIth distinct winemaking styles, and attention to terroir, California produces some of our favorite wines, and we’re pleased to offer our a customers a balance of old favorites and lesser-known gems from the best appellations. We’re especially proud of our selection of California Cabs and Pinot Noirs, with a balance of Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. We look forward to finding you just the right bottle.
